Crimson rapture by jennifer horsman5/28/2023 If it meant capturing her with kisses, and enslaving her with his caress, he would do it, and turn the seeds of her hidden desire into the full bloom of Crimson Rapture. His lean, masculine frame radiated a shocking strength his piercing blue eyes left her feeling helpless and weak.
Author a town like alice5/28/2023 The eighth book on my Desert Island Books list is A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute, which is one of my favourite love stories. Jean Paget is just twenty years old and working in Malaya when the Japanese invasion begins. I was a vegetarian, I believed in anarcho-socialism, and I had strict rules about the businesses I supported. Growing up punk, you live by your own moral code. Stephen king book duma key5/28/2023 One: He has struck it rich in the construction business. King’s main character, Edgar Freemantle, is a regular Joe with only a few unusual qualities. That may make it sound fanciful, but this novel is frank and well grounded. “Duma Key” is about characters whose near-death experiences have given them psychic powers. In the wake of the 1999 roadside accident that permanently altered his consciousness, he has turned the evanescence of health and sanity into his books’ most disturbing source of fear. But lately he also shows off other interests. Sure, he can still use supernatural effects to scare the wits out of you. It may still be the impetus for his stories, but it is no longer the foremost reason they’re interesting. King’s use of horror is not what it used to be. Given this combination of author and setting, it’s inevitable that something terribly undead will show up before the book is over.īut Mr. Stephen King’s “Duma Key” ventures to an all-but-uninhabited Florida island where the shells groan at high tide, tennis balls appear unexpectedly, foliage grows ominously quickly, and at least one heron flies upside-down. Alphabetical Listing of Exhibiting Artists Corban addison a harvest of thorns5/27/2023 Head legal counsel, Cameron Alexander, soothes the concerns of CEO Vance Lawson, assuring him that people generally have short memories, so all they have to do is hire BP Oil's PR firm (you might remember that big ol spill of theirs?) and just wait for all this to blow over. And boy is it news, because the company's CEO says he was under the impression that that particular factory had been officially closed for some time! Still, it's the company name on everyone's lips, thanks to the continuing media coverage, so a legal team is assembled to try to quickly, quietly, and hopefully successfully pull off a good bit of damage control. Once word of the fire hits worldwide media outlets, the news also finds its way back to the company's headquarters in Virginia. Oddly, a piece of fabric bearing the logo of the company - a major United States clothing retailer - lays across her mouth. One witness captures a photo of one of the victims, a young woman lying dead on the ground. The fire is so intense the entire building burns to the ground, killing hundreds of employees. Afterburn aftershock series5/27/2023 Jax is the son of a wealthy and influential family. Gia went after this position after her heart and dreams had been shattered and she figured how could she lose? I loved that her mentor understood heartbreak and was willing to help because she didn't want Gia to make the same mistakes as her. Gia now works again in New York for a well known and highly sought after curator, a former chef who had expanded beyond the kitchen to creating world-class restaurants and talent management. She also came from a close-knit family who had her back whenever she needed them to. I loved Gia especially because she's a native NYer and she made something of herself despite the belief that she wouldn't be able to handle the world she was going for. I went into this knowing nothing and I'm glad I did because I blew through this without any expectations and fell in love with the characters very quickly. I fell into this story and didn't come up for four hours until it was done. I should have known it would be phenomenal because Sylvia wrote it. Well if I'd have known how good this was I would have read it a long time ago. |
